I am currently a research-track master’s student in Communication at Sun Yat-sen University, advised by Professor Zhi-jin Zhong, Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication, and a member of the university’s Intelligence and Computational Communication Lab. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Information Management and Information Systems from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and received advanced quantitative training through the ICPSR Summer Program at the University of Michigan.
My work has been published in leading journals, including the International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction and the Journal of Journalism & Communication Studies (新闻与传播研究), a top-tier Chinese journal in communication studies. I have also presented at major conferences such as ICA and AEJMC. I have gained research experience as a research assistant at Sun Yat-sen University (with Prof. Zhi-jin Zhong) and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (with Prof. Cindy Ngai).
I am deeply grateful to have been honored with the China National Scholarship, the highest recognition for outstanding graduate students awarded by the Ministry of Education of China, and to have received a full three-year graduate scholarship at Sun Yat-sen University, along with research and travel grants. These opportunities have inspired me and strengthened my enthusiasm to further explore social information and communication, a field that continually fascinates me.
What am I exploring?
My research lies at the intersection of Information Science and Communication Studies.
My work primarily focuses on three interconnected areas:
Computational Social Science / Information and Media Effects / Human-Computer Interaction
Specifically, I analyze user behavior patterns in specific contexts using large-scale social media data. For example, I examine users’ news engagement in the context of news convergence or their refutation behaviors in online discussions during disasters. I also conduct experimental studies on user interactions with computers, particularly AI, investigating users’ forgiveness to AI moral errors or their response to AI hallucinations.
